The first face-to-face meeting and mobility activity of the F.I.R.S.T. (Future of Industrial Risk & Safety Training) project took place in Trenčín, Slovakia, hosted by Stredná odborná škola automobilová. This crucial event brought together partners from Turkey, Portugal, and Slovakia to strengthen partnerships, plan the next steps of the project, and align visions for developing the VR-based occupational safety game.
The first day focused on detailed presentations of partner organizations, confirming the project scope, timeline, and budget distribution. Discussions ensured that all partners had a unified understanding of their roles and responsibilities.
The following days were dedicated to technical workshops and brainstorming sessions regarding the game’s development. Partners defined the core mechanics, safety scenarios to be included, target platforms (VR heads and mobile/PC), and the pedagogical approach. A key output was the definition of the technical requirements and the division of labor for the coding and design phases.
In addition to the work sessions, the host partners organized cultural visits to Trenčín castle and Bratislava, allowing participants to bond and understand the local context. These activities were vital for building trust and strong working relationships within the consortium.
On the final day, a clear roadmap for the next 6 months was established, outlining upcoming tasks, deadlines, and the schedule for online follow-up meetings. The meeting concluded with an evaluation session and the distribution of certificates of attendance.
The meeting was a resounding success, leaving all partners motivated and equipped with a clear plan to move forward with the development of the innovative F.I.R.S.T. safety training game.
